STAY TRIM FOR TURKEY DAY WITH THESE FOUR MOVES

Heading home for the holidays to indulge in good food with good company is a Thanksgiving staple. What isn't exactly on your agenda is gaining a few extra pounds during all that festive noshing. Keep your hard earned physique intact with these four easy tips.

 

1. Join the Turkey Trot. If you're a runner, find out if your town is hosting a local Turkey Trot Run and put those extra carbs to good use!

 

2.  Take a hike. If your family meal is mid-day, seize the sunlight and go for a post-meal hike. Immediately burning through some of those extra calories is always a good idea and will help aid your digestion.

 

3. At home classes. You've been sun-saluting and scissor kicking your way through yoga and pillates for weeks, take what you know to heart and practice on your own.

 

4. Hit the gym. Find a local gym to get down and dirty for a quick burst on their equipment or pick up a schedule of classes to map out the ones you'll be able to incorporate during your stay.

 

If you aren't able to be as active as you'd like during the holiday, don't beat yourself up. Just chalk it up to a couple of rest days in a row and get back on track when your on your own turf again.
